Support MB Views Tag Archive – my view gets ignored when rendering “Only the post content area”

    Hi,

I am using the Smart Post Show Pro plugin to show all posts in Grid style. Nice plugin, but it doesn’t facilitate the archive views. That’s why I am looking at your Views extension.

To keep the grid style similar across the website I created a grid view in the Smart Post Show Pro plugin for a specific tag. So the MB View only contains the shortcode of the grid view.
When rendering for The whole page layout, including header and footer or for The layout between header and footer it works fine, but for Only the post content area it seems to get ifnored and the default WP view is shown.

Obviously, I want it to replace the post content…

    Please advise.

    Hi,

It works perfectly as you said. If you choose Render for: Only the post content area and Position: Replaces the post content, on the tag archive page, other elements of the theme support like featured image, post title, date, author … still keep up and only post content will be replaced.

If you want to replace the main content area with the grid and keep the sidebar, you can use Render for: The layout between header and footer and add this code to show the sidebar as well {{ mb.get_sidebar() }}.

Or use Type: Custom (via Shortcode) then add the shortcode [ mbv id="12345" ] to your Grid plugin.

What I’m trying to say is that for “Render for: Only the post content area” and “Position: Replaces the post content” my commands in the Views are ignored, as the default WP archive layout gets applied.

It does work for the other rendering options, but that’s not what I want.

    Hi Long,

    I haven’t seen a response from you.

I wish it would work as you say, but it doesn’t look like it.

    To demonstrate my case:
    – This setting (https://share.getcloudapp.com/nOuok1RO) leads to this view (https://share.getcloudapp.com/nOuok1Xg)

So for some reason it looks like replacing the post content area gets ignored in my case.

    Where am I going wrong?

    Hi Eddy,

Please take a look at my screen record https://share.getcloudapp.com/OAuPq704, and let me know if you understand how it works.
