For basic uses such as creating custom fields, custom post types, and custom taxonomies, you don't need to code because Meta Box provides you with an UI.

For some advanced techniques, you may need to code.

No. Every WordPress site creator including developers and beginners who want to save loads of time building custom fields and custom meta boxes can use Meta Box. We have options for people familiar with code and also for those who don't even want to look at it.

What are typical uses of Meta Box?

License

What is the license of Meta Box and its extensions?

All plugins are released under GNU General Public License version 2+.

Can I include Meta Box into my premium themes/plugins?

Yes. You can use Meta Box in your premium, commercial products, but you have to keep the credit to metabox.io. Link attribution is required.

IMPORTANT: You cannot include Meta Box in your free products or release/deliver them in public.

Can I use Meta Box on multiple websites?

It depends on the package you buy. You can refer to it here.

When I buy the LIFETIME BUNDLE, can I create new licenses?

Yes. You can create multiple licenses for any bundle you get, including Lifetime Bundle. You can also create “sub-licenses” and manage the number of websites. You can find out more information here.

What happens when my license expired?

The product will continue to work after your license expired. You are free to continue using the product if you like, but you will not receive support and updates for the product any longer.

Can I see which domain that my Meta Box plugin is installed on?

Yes. You can see which domain that Meta Box is active on your My Account page. You also can follow the post about New Licensing System in order to find more related information.

Refund

What's your refund policy?

We will be happy to give you a 100% refund within 14 days of the purchase date if you don’t like the extensions.

However, refunds are not applied for renewals.

Where can I download the plugin?

You will receive an email with a link to download the extension after purchasing it.

Where can I see all the purchased plugins?

To see the list of the purchased plugins, please log in to My Account page with your account credentials (which are sent to you after purchasing).

How do I update the plugins?

You can automatically update the plugins or manually update them:

Automatic update:
- Go to My Account page and copy the license key
- In your WordPress Dashboard, go to Meta Box → License and enter your license key
Manual update:
- Go to My Account page and re-download the plugin
- Upload the plugin to your website and overwrite old files

Where can I download the previous versions of Meta Box?

You can download any versions of Meta Box in wordpress.org here.

Invoice

How can I have an invoice for purchased plugins?

On My Account page, you'll see links to invoices of the purchases you made. Then you can enter your company details and download the PDF invoices.

Usage

Do I need to install Meta Box core plugin to use extensions?

Yes. Please go to your WordPress Dashboard < Plugins < Add New and search for "Meta Box". Then install and activate it. It's required to use any extensions.

Do I need to install Meta Box core plugin if I have Meta Box AIO?

No. Meta Box AIO already includes Meta Box. Just install Meta Box AIO and you'll have everything you need.

Can I migrate ACF to Meta Box?

Can I migrate from Pods to Meta Box?

Yes. We have an extension for migrating from Pods to Meta Box.

Can I migrate from Toolset to Meta Box?

Yes. We have an extension for migrating from Toolset to Meta Box.

Can I migrate from JetEngine to Meta Box?

For now, we don't have a tool for migration from JetEngine yet. But, if you are a developer, you just need to change the ID of the fields. Then, Meta Box will receive those fields.

How can I bulk import data to Meta Box?

Can I add the content of custom fields via shortcode?

We have a shortcode to show custom fields data. Or you can use our MB Views extension to create a shortcode to get values from multiple fields and show them in page builders.
