After significant performance and feature enhancements in the previous Alpha, Beta, and RC1 releases, MB Builder 5.0.0 RC2 shifts its focus toward refinement: polishing the interface and perfecting the workflow experience. This version makes what’s already there clearer, smoother, and more intuitive. From smarter information display to improved panel interactions, RC2 is all about helping you build faster, with more clarity and control. This version is now ready for you to explore. Download it today and let us know what you think!
Now, let’s explore what’s been fine-tuned before the official launch.
Better Management with Basic Information
When we released RC1, a dedicated community member gave us a valuable piece of feedback that led to several key UI improvements in RC2. These may seem like small changes, but they remove guesswork and let you work faster, with full visibility and minimal clicks.
Now, you can instantly view the most essential details of any field or field group without opening a panel or diving into settings. Everything you need is right there on the screen:
- Field group ID is clearly shown in the panel header.
- Field group’s location (where it appears in the admin interface, e.g., post, page, custom post type) is now displayed right next to the group title, giving you full context upfront.
- Field ID is displayed directly below the field label in the preview.
- Check whether a field has conditional logic via an icon beside the field label.
- Tooltip content is displayed when you hover over the tooltip icon in the preview.
Regarding the ID of a field or field group, you can also quickly and easily copy or double-click for editing without switching context or opening the field setting panel.
Smoother and More Flexible Interactions
MB Builder 5.0.0 RC2 brings a new level of flexibility to how you interact with your workspace.
Resizable Panels
Instead of locking you into a fixed layout or predefined behavior, this version gives you more control, so the interface adapts to your work.
Similar to page builders, you can customize the size of the panel (including the floating panel and left sidebar). Their status will be remembered.
Whether you're working on a large screen or a compact laptop, you can adjust the layout to fit your screen, your habits, and your focus.
Quick Status Management
Moreover, we added a new column in the field group list named Status allows you to publish or save to draft instantly, no need to open the settings.
This helps you quickly change the status of a field group and manage multiple field groups at once. The idea came from a real use case where I restored two field groups and had to open each one individually just to publish them.
UX/UI Streamlining
For some special settings, such as Conditional logic, Validation, and Admin Columns, we improve the UI for clearer and easier to setup.
Another minor yet practical update is that MB Builder will save the state of sections in the Settings panel. For example, you build a field group with simple settings. So that, in the first field, you just need to open the General and Appearance sections, the remaining sections are closed. Then, this state will be applied to all fields in this field group. As a result, you can cut down on repetitive work.
New UI for Settings Page and Relationship
To ensure a consistent and polished experience across the entire MB Builder, the MB Settings Page and MB Relationships extensions have also been updated with the same modern UI refinements.

Your workflow can be optimized significantly with:
- New admin bar title
- The layout is clean, and the settings are grouped clearly, logically.
- Options are shown as the icon selection with a button-style segmented control instead of a dropdown list.
- The status column for quickly publishing/drafting.
Last Words
The refinements in this RC2 release help you streamline your workflow, manage things more easily, and stay focused on what really matters: creating field groups/settings pages/relationships, and the configurations you need.

I assume this with be rolled into the AIO version soon?
Thank you!
PS. One final thought is to truly make this feel completely native to WP or Gutenberg as a whole you should possibly consider another approach to the layers panel. This way you have the properties inspector for the selected field on one side (pinned or collapsed) "right" for US and the layers panel on the opposite (pinned or collapsed) "left" for the US. Lastly, the black color seems out of theme.
Anyway that is all.
Love the work you're doing!
It will be released soon after receiving the feedback, and fixing all the bugs that might happen. Please try this version and let us know if you find any issues. We don't want to release when it's unstable.
Regarding the layout, your suggestion was our 1st version (please see the link at the bottom of the post). We got some feedback and changed it twice. This is the latest version, which can be changed if makes sense.
